FROM THE CHAIR

Mail From The Chair - Number 77

24/7/2015

Dear North Enfield,

Sorry to trouble your inboxes with another mail so soon, but I forgot a few things.

Firstly Mark Ricketts and Darren Atkins are organising a 6 a side tournament on the 12th September.  All members are become to host a team and it would be great to get some new faces to Strayfield Road, so please ask friends and family.  The aim of the day is to play some fun cricket in a social atmosphere, feast on the BBQ and a buy a beer from behind the bar.  Please contact Mark or Darren with details of your team and get involved!

Chris Mckenna is our brilliant Welfare Officer and as a club we feel that we need a deputy in case Chris is away on a Wednesday.  Ideally we would look to someone who does not have a role in the club to volunteer, say a parent of one of our Juniors. The person would need to gain a certificate and train up on the following areas.....

  A DBS check
  Safeguarding & Protecting Children Course
  Safe Hands Workshop
  First Aid

The courses are up to a few hours each and need to renewed online every few years.  There are numerous courses held over the winter, they are all nearby and the club will pay for any course fees.

Can someone please put their hand up and let know if you are willing to do this.  Thank you.

Finally as all senior member are aware, the League has changed in format this season. The organisers are keen to glean feedback from all players and clubs. It is time to have your say, so here is a link to the survey which should take 5-10 mins to complete.

I say it in every mail because it is true; NECC is as much your club as it is mine and all of us on Management.  If you have any ideas, suggestions, observations or thoughts about anything re. North Enfield CC then please let me know.

Many thanks for reading my mails and with very best wishes

James Scott
NECC Chairman
